Hip-hop is officially banned in Iran, yet it has thrived in the underground of Tehran since the early 2000s. Artists face strict prohibitions—no live concerts, no legitimate record deals—forcing the genre to remain raw and uncommercialized. The tracks emerging from this scene carry the weight of defiance, created by individuals who have endured political imprisonment, exile, or house arrest, all in the name of making their voices heard through free music.

minor F—a Tehran-born rapper, producer, DJ, and hacker—is your guide through this journey into the heart of Iranian underground music. The line-up includes some of the most influential names in the scene, artists whose resilience and creativity continue to shape the movement. Expect hits from iconic figures like Hichkas, Bahram, Shahin Najafi, and many other trailblazing rappers and musicians who form the backbone of this program.

My name is Shahab, and I am the youngest Faderani, which explains the tacky artist name minor F. I live in Berlin and work as a software developer on Fritz!Box. This year would be my second experience as a participant at CCC and I thought I could also contribute something.
